So Obstetrics and Gynaecology posting is done.
There are so many things I didn’t get to write about. Like the theatre theatrics; the endless waiting for the procedures to begin, the anesthetist dramas, the banters, the noise, the food.
Then there is the fact that Hausa was almost the official language in this hospital, I got left out of many conversations because I didn’t understand the language.
There are other things I’ve chosen to be silent about because they could implicate me. But one day, when the statute of limitation on those issues have expired, I will spill the beans.
But there was something that made the posting much more interesting; my camera. During the posting, I got the idea to start telling stories from the hospital, about patients, health workers and events in the hospital, and I started doing just that.
So far, it has turned out to be interesting; conceiving ideas, filming, coming up with a script and all. It also promises to bring some excitement to the job. We’ll see how that goes, but right now, it’s back to being a proper family doctor in my real workplace.
